La Cantera Resort Event Photographer – Jimmy V Fundraising Event

Fundraising events are inspirational to photograph because you learn about incredible people coming together for a cause.  This event was over Final Four weekend and hundreds of people, including some Spurs favorites, came out for the event at La Cantera Resort.  The Jimmy V Foundation is all about victory over cancer.  Basketball legend, Jimmy Vitale, has been having these fun dinners all over the country.  With Final Four going on in downtown San Antonio, this was a perfect time to get people to donate for cancer research. As a La Cantera event photographer you always know there is going to be amazing views at the hotel and knowledgeable staff on hand at the event.

Matt Bonner emceed the event.  We felt very short photographing with him around!  David Robinson was also present and donated an evening cooking with “The Admiral” at the live auction.  The event started with cocktails and wine tasting.  There was also a silent auction for people to peruse.  To no surprise, there was lots of basketball paraphernalia! Dinner followed where Jimmy Vitale spoke about the cause.  Following dinner was a live auction.  Those are always difficult to photograph because people put their paddles up and down so quickly.  Luckily, we caught a few bidders in the act.

We donated some event photography coverage at the event which was paired with an exclusive dinner on the giraffe deck at the zoo.  Check out those fun giraffe photos.  Who doesn’t want to party with those amazing animals?
