Summer Series 2012: Props with PURPOSE

Balloons and bubbles? Random? Maybe…. Awesome? Definitely. Props are OK as long as they have a purpose. Props can add a fun, quirky element to your photo shoot. They can liven up a picture, but they also need to reflect the personality of you as a couple.

Props also serve as a distraction. They can distract the couple from realizing they are in front of a camera. From experience, guys don’t always enjoy being the center of attention. They feel awkward in front of the lens and for the most part are only there for their fiancé. Props aid in making the groom think he’s not the main focus, taking the pressure off his shoulders. We want him feeling relaxed and looking comfortable.

Karen, an adorable teacher, and Travis, a handsome, country boy, were a blast on set. They were super easy going and willing to put up with our silly props. We hoped to capture their fun-loving relationship with some whimsical additions, bubbles and balloons.  As we all know….Summer time = Bubble time.

Shout out to our awesome venues, Chris Park and ZaZa Gardens. Both are located just south of downtown San Antonio. Chris Park is “a place of beauty, contemplation and joy” with exotic species of plants and contemporary art. ZaZa Gardens, once a humble pickle factory, has been transformed into a charming, historic venue with lots of natural light and industrial elements.
